ChatGPT ads arrive with an unusually specific commitment set: ads do not influence answers, conversations stay private from advertisers, and OpenAI does not optimize for time spent. Those are testable claims, which is rare in adtech. Sponsored Agents are also still a US test with select advertisers, and the September 23 date belongs to the Shopify app, not an international ads launch.
